It’s me!

My former life has at last caught up with me. Andy, Mark and myself want to wish Warren Ferguson (see comments) all the best and of course Loads of Congratulations to Lee on his Everest Sucess. I have also climbed several peaks in the Himalaya and know what a wonderful place it is.

My name is Matt Higginson I am a Crew Manager at Lichfield Fire Station I am managing this web-BLOG for team DENALI 08.

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service’s “Fire and Ice” team DENALI 08’s goal is to climb Mt McKinley / Denali, the highest mountain in North America, in May 2008 to raise money for the Fire Services National Benevolent Fund.

The BLOG gives all team members, their families, friends, sponsors and supporters an opportunity to share their thoughts and experiences with one another leading up to and during the expedition.
